Swap Registration forms are being updated and should be ready early February, as always.  We will e-mail or mail renewal information to those who registered at the 2023 event.

NO PETS ALLOWED ANYWHERE ON THE GROUNDS FROM 7 A.M. THURSDAY THROUGH 6 P.M. SUNDAY.

Remember when we moved from Raceway Park to Dakota County Fairgrounds?  None of us had a true picture of how things would lay out–work out.  This is a similar situation.  For this move, most of the concerns are that you all want to keep your same exact spots, and we are trying to accommodate that.  However, there are many changes, including new spot sizing, different event lay-out, different placement of Sponsor/Vendor, available indoor swap spaces near the outdoor fields.

We are receiving registrations and keeping them in order of postmark.  We have repeatedly made assurances that we are doing the best we can to keep placements as close to the WCF lay-out as possible.  Once the plotting is done, we will publish maps, start setting spots and send out confirmations.

At the moment we are arranging time to go plot out the space and as you can imagine, the snow is a current hindrance.  Why didn’t we get this done before the snow???  Well, if we had had more volunteers in October and November, it could have been done then!!

We really do consider all the elements that go into this event, and we understand that you each expect different things from our event.  Just like your own individual selves, nobody can make everybody happy, and this reality is very apparent when so many people are involved.

The second aspect of this move is the change in camping.  There are no hook ups or facilities other than toilets, so there is no camping on the fairgrounds.

One thing that hasn’t changed–swap registration pays for the swap spot during set up and show hours, just like at DCF.  Anyone staying overnight there was expected to pay for overnight.  While most did observe that rule, some swappers sneaked and cheated, didn’t pay, If/when caught, the complaints were so ridiculous.  Once again, it is clearly stated on swap registrations–there is a fee, and a paid permit must be displayed.  If our volunteers encounter complaints, resistance or other ugliness over this, it will not be allowed in the future.  Don’t choose to be the one that ruins this for others.

ALL OF US VOLUNTEERS ARE DOING THE BEST WE CAN TO MAKE THE MOST PEOPLE HAPPY.  Instead of asking why we do things the way we do, or make the decisions we do, consider volunteering and learn it all first hand!!
